TOPIC: BOOTSTRAPPING- SURVIVING UNTIL YOU GET FINANCING
-OR-
FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT
"Bootstrapping" has been defined by what it is not. It is not debt or equity financing- it is everything else that an entrepreneur does to survive. From juggling credit card debt to acquiring computers on the "buy-now-pay-later" plan, to assembling products in your brother-in-law's garage, to stringing out your vendors, Bootstrapping is that combination of creativity and chutzpah that keeps small companies alive.
NJEN is pleased to present a panel of survivors- led by Dr. Marshall Cohen, president of Sensors Unlimited. Dr. Cohen co-founded Sensors Unlimited in 1991, and was elected CEO by the Board of Directors in 2004.
Dr Cohen will be joined by panel members Michael Cloran, CEO of Interactions Corporation and Rick Kushel, CEO of Archive Systems, Inc. Both panelists are successful entrepreneurs who brought their companies from startup through successful venture financing rounds.
Join is on October 5 and get some ideas on how you can bootstrap your way through the hard times until your company is ready for financing. Maybe you'll even end up flying on a Russian space craft, like Dr. Cohen's partner, Greg Olsen.
