FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP: Grace Alliance Church of Piscataway and Community Baptist Church of Somerset will host "Walk for a Mission" Saturday, October 18 at Colonial Park.
The four-mile walk, scheduled to begin at 10 at the Knob Hill section of the county park located on Elizabeth Avenue, will raise money for a mission trip to the Dominican Republic in March.
In addition to the walk there food will be served and games will be held for children.

The trip to the Dominican Republic is sponsored by Meeting God in Missions, a faith-based charitable group based in Erie, Pa., that conducts short-term missions in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
In recent years members of the two area churches have given out eyeglasses, clothing, sheets, toys and more. They have also participated in projects that have built churches for Dominican and Haitian congregations, and housing for migrant Haitian workers living in the Dominican Republic.
The rain date for the event at Colonial Park will be Saturday, Oct. 25. |
