This symposium will present new findings on successful models for regional economic development. New Understanding has evolved from a three year global study lead by professor Richard Lester at MIT. The lessons of the study focused on several countries in Europe and different regions in the US and should provide useful ideas fro further consideration in policy planning. Key speakers include Dr. Alok Chakraberti (NJIT), Dr. Richard Lester (MIT), Caren Franzini (NJEDA), Robert Strom (Kauffman Foundation), Dr. Donald Sebastian (NJIT), Dr. Philip Cooke (University of Cardiff), Dr. Markku Sotarauta (University of Tampere) and Dr. Sean Safford (University of Chicago).
