8(a) Federal Certification for Federal Contracts,
Tuesday, May 12 2009, 9:00am - 11:00am

The 8(a) Federal Certification for Federal Contracts Program is SBA’s effort to promote equal access for socially and economically disadvantaged individuals to participate in
the business sector of the nation’s economy. Socially and economically disadvantaged individuals include Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian Pacific Americans and Subcontinent Asian Americans. Individuals not members of these minority groups who can demonstrate that they are socially and economically
disadvantaged may also be eligible. SBA may provide participating firms with
procurement, marketing, financial, management or other technical assistance.
This workshop explains 8(a) eligibility requirements and application procedures.
Business owners must be U.S. citizens and should be in business for at least 2 years.
