Those financial statements aren’t just for bankers; they can be used by YOU to diagnose your company’s financial health. The several standard statements when viewed together can help you make smart financial, investment and management decisions. Many business owners don’t know how to read their statements and rely on advisors (such as accountants) to tell them the results. Their input is valuable but you need to educate yourself to detect potential problems before they become devastating and to see the clues to create greater profitability. We’ll take the mystery out of the numbers and help you make magic with those statements.
You must be able to understand your statements so you can:
• calculate your current and future financial needs,
• ensure a positive cash flow for short-term needs
• sustain business growth now and in the future
• determine which assets you should buy vs. which assets should be financed
• calculate the value of your assets for collateral to secure a loan
