and medical devices companies develop their international business Medipex, the British National health Service (NHS) Innovation Hub is collaborating with the New Jersey based Transatlantic Business Council in a series of initiatives designed to help UK healthcare medical devices companies develop their businesses in both the United States and Continental Europe.
First activity will be the staging of a symposium entitled "Growing Your Business Abroad" to be held at Schloss Reinhartshausen, Frankfurt, Germany on 15th and 16th November 2010. The symposium will be held immediately prior to the Medica Exhibition which opens in Düsseldorf on 17th November.
The symposium has been designed to give UK and New Jersey healthcare companies an opportunity to meet with their counterparts from both sides of the Atlantic at the same time as discussing their international market entry plans with venture capitalists, investment bankers, corporate lawyers and regulatory experts.
"This symposium is the first of a series of combined TBC and Medipex initiatives." said Transatlantic Business Council Chief Executive Officer, John Baldwin "We feel that the timing of this symposium is right with the healthcare investment market in the United States beginning to move out of the recession. This is being driven by an anticipated big expenditure wave over the next five years which will trigger M&A as a good portion of federal funding expansion is allocated to the healthcare sector. The timing could not be better for British healthcare companies wishing to enter the US market."
Future plans of the combined Medipex/Transatlantic Business Council are expected to include a series of international healthcare business briefings to be held in New Jersey, Atlanta, New York and Boston in the United States and Sheffield in the United Kingdom. Full details will be announced in September.
"This initiative complements the range of services that Medipex are offering to healthcare companies to connect them better with the NHS for product development and clinical trials." Added Richard Clark, Chief Executive Officer of Medipex "Identifying and validating international business opportunities can often be difficult for companies to identify and this service aims to help them to do this more effectively".
