Ms. DuBose is a screenwriter who has learned to produce, direct and be an entrepreneur. Syndicated movie critic Kam Williams called her "Vanishing Black Male" documentary the best Black documentary of 2005 and listed her as one of the best directors. The movie also won the Broader Vision Award at the Garden State film festival for, "using filmmaking for the greater good." Her screenplay, "Nobody Will Know" made her a quarter finalist in Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoethrope 2005 Screen Writers Competition. Other credits include writing/producing/directing three short movies, two off Broadway projects with Reg E. Gaines ( author of Bring In Da Noise, Bring In Da Funk), two musicals that premiered at regional theaters, producing community performances with major international artists including Hugh Masekela, and Paquito D’ Rivera and several documentaries. In 2003 Ms. DuBose formed the NJ Movie Maker’s Network with two associates. The Network is a service organization for New Jersey’s independent film community. In the past three years over 500 people have attended the Network’s professional workshops, made business connections, had their movies screened through festivals and movie matinees.
